Pioneer Princess

Makiah went on a 3 day Pioneer Trek right after Christmas with our church. Everyone was divided up into "families" with a "Ma" & a "Pa" and they dressed up like the Pioneers and pushed handcarts for miles and miles. She got to do lots of fun activities like they did in the olden days and everthing that she took with her had to fit in the bucket shown here in this picture (except for her bedding). It was a great experience for her and she learned a lot. I went on one when I was about 15 years old, only mine was 10 days long. I reflect on the memories of that trek often and learned so much from that experience. I'm surprised she survived that long with out her cell phone!!!! Could have made a good "survivor" reality show!
